Web 2.0 for Learning Professionals Coming to You!
On Monday, September 29, Harold Jarche, Tony Karrer and I are opening the doors on a free 6-week learning event that will help people get up to speed on social media and how it can be used to support learning. The "course" is sponsored by Work Literacy and the eLearning Guild, in part as a run-up to DevLearn 2008. But don't worry--everyone is welcome.
Each week we will share new activities that will allow you to explore different Web 2.0 tools and discuss their implications for learning. The activities can be done at your own pace and will be hands-on.

Anyone can sign up for the course, so we'd love it if you'd spread the word, particularly to your friends and colleagues who may be interested in exploring Web 2.0 and learning.
We're suggesting that anyone who's interested in joining us can start by signing up for the Ning network we're using for the event. That's also where you can find more information on our plan. If anyone has a problem with creating a profile, etc., email me and I'll see what I can do to help.
Please feel free to email this info to anyone you know who might be interested. And of course we'd love it if you'd blog about it to get the word out to as wide an audience as possible. We're also looking for your thoughts on how to get the info out to people who are not online--any ideas?
Michele, I love your site! I'm in T&D and I recently began a site of my own to begin talking more about the generation gaps inside corporate america and how I'm finding it difficult to implement new tools and ways to communicate. Seems the Boomers, the folks now running the companies, are hard to penetrate when it comes to the notion of working and learning outside of the corporations 4 brick walls. I'm very interested in advancing the concepts of a ROWE and this inherently includes and involves Web2.0.
Great site...I'll be visiting often...and I'll see you (hopefully) during your upcoming event!

Thanks, Rich--I checked out your site, too, and I love that you're trying to further the discussions between the generations--it's definitely an issue that's going to get bigger. And I completely agree with you about ROWE--web 2.0 is a huge part of that!
