Update on Blogging4Learning
I've just started with Day 2 of my blogging4learning project and so far I've been joined by Kivi Leroux Miller and Mick from Mick's World of Learning. Kivi intends to look at "storytelling" and what nonprofit communicators can learn from the storytelling community, while Mick wants to look at using social media for corporate learning. I'm thrilled, because these are also topics that interest me, so I get the pleasure of learning from their experiences, too!
For my own project, I've already lined up one case study and have had the offer of another one that I need to follow up on. I think that these will actually offer some really rich learning because I get the chance to dig into the experiences of people who are interested in social media, but still relatively new to it.
Christine Martell has been helping me, too, by sending me a chat transcript of a conversation she had with her sister on using Google Reader. It's fascinating because it shows the different places where confusion about what to do can crop up and reminds me of some of my own difficulties in making the transition to GReader from Netvibes. I'm going to be following up with some more detailed questions and I'm also planning to pull together a survey in SurveyGizmo to see if I can get a little more quantitative information coming in. I am beginning to question what I've gotten myself into, though. . .
Another great thing--I see that some people have already been adding examples to the Blogging4Learning wiki. Thank you! Please keep it up because the more we can have concrete samples of using the different blog posting formats in different ways, the better. And if you want to join me in this craziness, please let me know, either via email or in comments.
I've avoided doing the 31-day challenge because I know there's no way I could do a post every day for a month. However, this seems a little more realistic time schedule. I feel like I need a bit of a push on my blog right now, so hopefully this will get me going in writing more regularly again.
Sign me up!
