Carnival of Nonprofit Consultants #23--Web 2.0 How-Tos and Examples
Welcome to Edition #23 of the Carnival of Nonprofit Consultants! This week we're focusing on examples of how nonprofits are using Web 2.0 tools in their organizations and on simple, how-to's for using various tools. As usual, we have a nice selection of posts from a lot of great people.
Wikis
Seems like wikis are a hot topic:
- Michelle Murain from Zen and the Art of Nonprofit Technology offers a post on how she uses wikis to get her work done, as well as some advice on her favorite wiki tools.
- Beth Kanter of Beth's Blog deepens the conversation by getting into all things wiki in her post "Wiki Wiki Means Quickly in Hawaiian" where she provides both a ton of links to wiki resources as well as some nice examples of how wikis are being used.
- Kris Olsen from WikiThat offers some suggestions on how nonprofits can use a wiki for project management, using Habitat for Humanity as an example.
Online Fundraising--Ken Goldstein of The Nonprofit Consultant takes a look at online fundraising in his post "The Future of Online Fundraising." He has some good suggestions about how to more effectively use tags and feeds to support fundraising efforts, as well as some thoughts about how online and traditional fundraising intersect.
Nonprofits that are Using Web 2.0
- Nedra Weinreich of Spare Change offers some nice examples of how nonprofits are using online games to support social change.
- At Getting Attention, Nancy Schwartz has found several nonprofit leaders who blog and she offers both links to their blogs as well as commentary and suggestions.
- Britt Bravo, guest-blogging at Katya Andresen's Getting to the Point blog, shares her top 4 picks for best Internet Cause-related Marketing for 2006.
Bonus Post--And as host of this week's carnival I get to offer my own bonus post, so I'm going to suggest that you follow Vince Flander's advice and find out--"Does Your Web Site Suck?"
Enjoy this week's Carnival and be sure to let our bloggers know what you think of their posts. You can check out next week's edition of the Carnival at N-TEN Connect.
